Low, steady, maybe eight seconds. Under the music, not instead of it. I was driving and I thought it was the car until it came back twice at what felt like the same spacing.
Not complaining. I want to know if it is part of the overnight or if my alternator is going.

It is ours. It runs on the hour and on the quarter past when the overnight is thin, and it has been in the chain since before I took the seat. I count it as a station ident. Nobody has asked me to stop.

TOWER NOTE. The 3:14 tone is a carrier check. It confirms the line is lit when there is little music to confirm it with. Your alternator is a separate question and the tower has no opinion on it.
